    Whatsapp Crashing My Phone

Hi everyone I hope someone can help me! I installed whatsapp on my phone about 5 days ago and since then my phone has been randomly shutting itself down and restarting! I am unable to uninstall the app either using the apps part of the settings or the uninstall button on Google play store. I am also unable to start or use the app. Has anyone else experienced this or know how to correct the problem or even just uninstall the app. Thanks in advance for your help :-)

I didn't have issues with WhatsApp as well. Have you tried reformatting?

I have seen two terrible crashes of an HTC one S recently.

In april a message was received and thereafter the whatsapp folder was wiped clean - no databases, no images, no videos, no audios etc. A killer app called mobilego was then found installed as bootapp.

yesterday the same phone froze after eceiving a whatsapp video, after which nothing worked properly. It became hot all the time, was sluggish and where text had to be entered, the keyboard did not show up.
A factory reset without deleting the data made the phone work again and a fresh install of whatsapp has since behaved almost normally - a few messages were lost but all the images, videos and audios were preserved.

    SMS messages were all lost.

playing the video with vlc player on a PC resulted in the video picture becoming larger and distorted and replaying after it had played ot the end.

I am not sure what is going on but
    a)
whatsapp audio and video messages seem to be adding malicious code
    b)
it does not seem to affect SAMSUNG phones, though there are many internet reports of whatsapp crashing all sorts of ANDROID phones.

    HTC can you please check?
