Transferring all data from one phone to another
Hi,
As I am expecting the new one s to replacey current one, is there any easy way to transfer everything from one phone to the other?
I have the rerware my backup pro, and I can backup everything. However I don't think it worked when I copy/pasted the backup file from my desire to the one s. I was wondering if that was an android mismatch issue.
Any other ideas? I wish to simply restorey new phone with screens, games, photos, calendar, contacts etc on one go.
Thanks

I don't believe it's possible to do what you want to do. You want to transfer the entirety of "phone A" to "phone B" - correct?

Yes.
I was thinking of downloading all my apps first, logging my accounts and then using backup pro to restore my previous state of the old phone to the new one.
Apparently, backup pro can backup both apps and data.

Probably an Andoid mismatch indeed.
If you have your contacts entered as Google contacts in the Desire, they should automatically sync to the One S once you've completed the setup procedure.
If you have them entered as Phone contacts, you should be able to export them to the SD card, then transfer them to the PC and/or to the One S, where you should be able to import them again.
As for apps, that shouldn't be too difficult. Open Google Play (formerly known as Android Market) on your Desire, press the "menu" button and select "my apps". Write down the apps and developers. Seeing as it's a Desire, you probably won't have to do much writing.
Once you have that list, downloading it again on the One shouldn't be too difficult if you use the search function.
Then there's the homescreens. I used to have pictures of my Desire's screens, which made it really easy to set it up again after a factory reset.
Unfortunately that means you still need to set up the mailboxes by hand, and that text messages etc will be lost.

Thanks for the reply. But the transfer now will be from a one S to a new one S. So I would hope that this should be easier.

Ah, ok. From one One S to another it should theoretically work.

I hope so. I used the backup pro setting and saved everything hopefully it should work.

Here is the deal;
1.As long as your contacts were in sinc with your Google account they should all transfer to your new phone with no issues.
2.The apps it's another story, they will be saved with your Google play store account but that is as far as it goes. You will be able to download then from there but any saved data will be lost.
3.Any files, pictures, and videos (as long as you have them in your external SD card) will be saved and transferred.

Phone Transfer can transfer all the data from one phone to another phone with ease and without worrying about any data such as contacts, SMS, music, videos, images and apps loss.
