hi all
i think as my friend swenson write this red flash light on screen borders when you select 'Strict Mode Enabled' to inform you there is apps do long operation so untick this choice
by going Settings > Developer Options
Thank you guys for this information. It worked for me. I believe some app that I installed and gave access to do stuff on my system changed those settings.
First:
I unchecked the option mentioned a few posts earlier. It was OK until I tried to ring a number from a dedicated icon on my screen.
Second:
I restarted the phone pressing and holding simultaneously the power and volume button. The phone restarted and showed an error... I sent the info to HTC. Seems to work fine ATM.
I'm using the same phone with you (HTC ONE S) and i'm facing the same problem with you too. my phone appear red open square on the side of the screen and it flicking. I Go to Settings > Developer Options > untick 'Strict Mode Enabled' but the red open square still flicking. Does the red flicking light still appear in your screen? If no, How do you fix it?
My phone was becoming very difficult to charge (18-20 months old). Over the last few months I've had to manoevure it into different "positions" to get a good contact with the MicroUSB cable (I'm using "official Blackberry" cables that work well with all MicroUSB phones. The official HTC USB cable gave up the ghost and the cheapo I got from ebay was next to useless, lasted weeks).
Things have grown steadily worse. Last week I did a factory reset and a new Error appeared: "Phone is using more current than the charger is able to deliver". When I look at Logs in Battery Indicator Pro it goes from "Charging/Discharging/Unplugged" alternately, and the % whilst charging goes up/down/stops, even when sat on a desk left to charge.
I changed the USB cable and battery (thinking the original battery was at the end of its life) but the Error, and bad connection problems are the same. I've tried charging from my PC; no difference.
From a Forum, it was recommended I could "de-fuzz" the MicroUSB connector with a very fine needle but I'm still having trouble getting a good connection/consistent charge to my phone.
I've bought a new Motorola AC Charger (recommended from another forum as being a good charger, rather than the HTC one), and a standalone battery charger (*not got them yet!), to see if that will help; though HTC are saying they'll pick up the phone tomorrow.
Today, my phone is completely dead. When I connect the AC Adapter the red light "flashes" for a while. Before it would eventually charge from there, but it's only flashing and doing nothing else now.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm confident the MicroUSB connector on the phone *isn't* faulty/broken as HTC are suggesting, it looks fine, though I know that doesn't rule out problems. I've been very careful with it. I read that the red light flashing could mean the motherboard or battery is overheating (?).
Battery Monitor Widget said this the other night, when I had a little charge left (sent this to HTC at the time): 25°c/3701mV, 175/1250mAH, -35mA, though this changes.
PS: HTC maintain that a MicroUSB connector repair is NOT covered by the Warranty as this is due to wear and tear..though I have read of lots of problems with Desire HD owners and the MicroUSB connector?
