    Contact Transfer

It seems that when you transfer contacts from one HTC phone to another, even if you choose the phone or google account, the transfer only does the phone contacts and never the google ones.

If you have your phone set to sync with Google, it will move all of the contacts to the new phone or phones (plural) with no problem.

When th transfer was made,it was unchecked. But if I enable that, then my phone gets flooded with the same contacts from google again, and I have a lot of them as I never erase an email.

Well, if you don't check it they won't sinc. Try going to your gmail account on a PC and edit your contacts there and delete what you don t want.

What I don't get is this.

You have one phone, and it use the transfer HTC program to transfer your contacts from one phone to another.

So, once you follow the instructions and you are paired with the new phone, you can have an option which category contacts you want sent. Phone/google/facebook etc...

So of you tick phone, its done. Once you tick google or anything else, it still transfers your phone contacts!!!

I don't want to sync any google contacts as there are emails and contacts in there I don't care to have on my phone for example, but I'd like to say transfe my facebook contacts from one phone to the other, and Not by synching toy facebook account.

But it appears that the Bluetooth transfer service HTC has only copies the phone contacts. The only way around it is to copy all your account contacts to your phone and then transfer them. Which I don't want to do, as I prefer them separated.

The problem is that you in fact are using two methods at once hence the issue you are experiencing. If you were using the HTC feature, you should have not sinc with Google and viseversa. If you synced with both you in fact created the issue.

But that is usually the case when the time comes to go from one phone to a new one, isn't it? You have a phone for 2-3 years and you replace it. Your old phone will have both or all your accounts. You'd expect to be able to transfer them through the HTC feature esp. When it comes from phones of the same company.

Anyway, I did it manually now and triple checked the contacts that I need to have and have them all sorted and backed up.

I'm late to this party. Why not just use Google? What is the benefit of this HTC feature you mention? I've used Google Contacts since my first smart phone (the OG Droid), back in January of 2010 and never experienced a problem.
