Black border on home screen

for some reason there is a black area about 1cm wide down the right hand side and across the bottom of my home screen it is cutting bits off (not shrunken) but when I go into apps they come up fine any ideas.
restart fixed it for 5 mins then it came back.

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with this same issue. I did the recent software update and since I did it this black bar along side and bottom
has been appearing. I don't want to do a factory reset. Is there some other fix???????

I have a htc one S.

This is happening to me right now too. I'll turn it off and on, and then it'll be normal for a minute, but then the black "border" comes back. It is really no help, since I can not access my texts or emails since the links are in those areas. You can't even go to look at all your apps because the link to that is in the black border. This is becoming quite a problem.

I hope someone can help out!
