How to Get the Most Out of Your Battery.....
I have an HTC One S and I was wondering....
What is the best way to take care of the phone battery...?
Let it completely run down at much as possible before charging?..
Or should we keep it charged as much as possible not allowing it to drop below a certain point..
Being that the battery is not removable, I am sure everyone would like to know how to keep it in top shape.!..
So who's the battery expert and what should we do?..

Hi there
1. I guess first thing to do is to change to GSM only from WCDMA on "Mobile network" > "Network mode" .
2. Automatic brightness will also be a good thing to change to. Change from " Display, gestures & buttons"
3. Reduce Screen Sleep from " Display, gestures & buttons"
4. Frequently check what consuming the power. You may see such things under "Power"
Hope This will help.
A long time user & happy user of HTC brands.

The battery in the One S uses Li-Ion technology. That means:
- There is no "breaking in" period for Li-Ion. Some will try to tell you to charge it for 8 hours or so before first use, but frankly that's euhm... how do I put this nicely... "BS".
- Do not let it run down completely. Even though the battery is supposed to be protected against deep discharge it can't stop self-discharge which may result in full charge depletion (though that should take a couple of days at least). A completely "flat" Li-Ion battery won't work anymore.
- Keep temperatures low, especially when charging. Charging at high temperatures has a negative effect on capacity. It's best to charge at average room temperatures (21*C/70*F) or lower, but don't overdo it (temperatures below freezing point are not a good idea either).
- Charge whenever it suits you. Li-Ion has no "memory effect". I charge my phone every odd day and usually put it on the charger for maybe half an hour or so on the morning of the 2nd day if the charge is below 60%.
- If you don't use it for a prolonged time, charge the battery to between 40% and 60%.
