    Swype Beta Keyboard

I read a good review of the Swype Beta Keyboard in the latest PCPlus magazine, so I downloaded the app to my One V.
I can see Swype in my Settings/Language Keyboard menu and have set it to ON but when I type a text I am only seeing the HTC standard keyboard and not the Swype one. Is anyone else using the latest Swype who can tell me how to activate it?
    Thanks.

Sorry, not sure. I used the current Swype beta for awhile and don't remember this issue, so it's probably something simple.

I can tell you however that Swype beta on the One V was horribly laggy. Shame, as I like the beta interface, but an older version of Swype on my old Optimus V was much smoother.

I've started using SlideIt. Interface-wise it's not quite as good as swype beta, but it's accetable, and functionally it's very comparable to swype. And crucially, it doesn't cause the One V to lag.

You have to enable swype when you install it, but you also have to choose swype for the input method, which I think is under language options

I havent had any lag using the latest version of swype on my One V
    Is the pub open yet?

I finally got an answer through the Swype Forum which said:-

"Open your HTC One V's Android Settings menu, scroll to "Language & keyboard", and tap on "Configure input method". There should be a list of available input methods, including one called "Swype Beta". Ensure that this has a check mark next to it (i.e. ensure it's been activated as an optional keyboard).

Then, open a text field, peel down your notification bar from the top of you screen, and tap on "Choose input method". This should give you a list of activated input methods, of which one is "Swype Beta". Tap on "Swype Beta", and you should be set."

    It Works!
