Headphone hissing sound

Hi guys, just got my first Android phone. I really love the HTC One V, but there is one major problem. Whenever I use headphones, there is a weird hissing noise, like static or something, but only when sound is playing.

This affects both music, and making calls with headphones. I have tried multiple pairs of headphones, different brands, but all have the same problem. Adjusting the volume does NOT affect the volume of the hissing static, it is stays at the same level.

This is a real deal breaker for me, as I use headphones constantly. Any fix?

It looks like there is no fix, it is just a manufacturing problem. It looks at though HTC claims there is no problem if you send the phone in to them, and even replacing / exchanging yields the same problem.

Very sad, as this will probably turn me away from using HTC anymore. The commercial for this phone states that it is 'musically enhanced', but really, this problem creates very bad sound quality.

Yup, I noticed this too with quieter sections of music. Not hugely noticeable to me with normal volumes and audiobooks tho' but you might have better ears. Still, an annoyance as you say.
I would think that its the kind of thing that will be fixed in later firmware, based on 'web research its just a bit of componentry that needs managing better.

I always think you have to put up with this kind of issue on the v1 of any device...they are never perfect

Dear friend, i'm having same problem, when i'm using other headphone. use original HTC headphone. i'm not having problem in the original one.
