HTC One V WiFi Issue NOT Resolved

    Dear Friends,

I bought the new HTC ONE V smart phone with much excitement and expectations. Its got shattered when the WIFI is not connected. Let me explain the detailed steps what I had done to make it work. I tried connecting to WIFI and it always says, "Connected", but I could not surf/Browse, not even weather update :-(.

    1. I am having 3 laptops and 1 iTouch which is connected to internet through WIFI connection (BSNL Service Provider, Beetel modem, Cisco wireless router).
    2. Initially I thought there could be the problem with my router or modem. I did the soft and hard reset of both the modem and router and it went in vain.
    3. When googling, I found "DNS issue" and did add the static IP address, DNS change, reboot and it too went in vain.

Now I really dont know what i have to do? So upset after a week of NOT being connected to the internet.

did you go into settings to make sure the wifi itself is turned on? There's an on and off option where you can turn it on and off by touching a small little icon switch

I believe I am having a similar problem. My HTC One V is showing a strong connection to my WiFi access point (Belkin N750), but will not move data. My first thought was that there was an IP or DNS issue. I have tried, without success, using static a IP and DNS server addresses that are verified to otherwise work. The phone has the latest software I can find available (1.08.652.11 710RD). I also updated the access point to its latest firmware, still to no avail.

My One V is the only device I have that will not connect to this access point (iPhone 4, iPad, three laptops, XBOX, Samsung Galaxy S II, AppleTV). However, I have tested the One V with an older Belkin access point and it works fine with it. This is quite confusing (also, frustrating). Any suggestions?

I would have thought that they would have tested all this stuff out in the factory. Starts with the designers and the developers.
There are some basic functions on a smart phone that is non negotiable in my view.
    Making and receiving a call
    SMS
Bluethooth and wireless connections, this is the way the world is going, a no brainer
    Emails
Connecting to web sites, and making contributions there.
All the other yadda yadda like gaming, photos and stuff is less important.
The final important issue, is to have direct help with the factory or company for support.
This site is new, and members wont have all the answers, unless they have had their own issue sorted
O/T if you go to most other cell phone forums, they are all having issues of various sorts. A smartphone isnt perfect.
