Hi, Newbie Needing Help

hi all,
i recently upgraded from an iPhone to the HTC One X. I love it, except i can't sync anything!!
I've tried four times to download the HTC Sync Manager and everytime i get an error when trying to install it.
I've tried deleting the file and re-downloading etc but no luck.
This is the error message

The files for installation requirement Microsoft VC Redist 2005 KB973544 (x86) could not be found. The installation will now stop. This is probably due to a failed, or canceled download.

My computer is on Windows 7 and it should meet all the spec requirements.
I've googled the file it says it needs but haven't found anything relating to the Sync Manager.
Am i missing something obvious? Getting a little frustrated with it.

Have both of you tried deleting the installation file, then downloading it again? You could simply have a bad download... aside from that, make sure all your drivers are current.

Hey i have unrooted and relocked the bootloader in my htc one x (no custom rom) but now every time i try to make an ota update it takes me to the bootloader! plzzz help me, and thank you

I have just recently purchased my htc one and am having the same problem. I was wondering if you ever found a fix for it, I was emailing with htcs support but they were not very helpful.

I am having the exact same problem. I have updated all my drivers, deleted and re-installed the file, and done everything else I've read thus far. Have any of you had any success yet? If so, can you help me out?

I have the same trouble but with the different problem.
It because when I Installed my htc sync for the first time, I canceled it in the middle of the installation.
After that i can't install it. It says "The files for the installation requirement CheckAndRemoveOldHtcDriver could not be found. The installation will now stop. This probably due to failed, or canceled download."
pls, can somebody give me a solution.?

I purchased a new HTC recently and trying a install the HTC Sync Manager and getting the same error.
Is it that HTC sync manager is not compatible with widows 7 or something else. Please help if somebody knows the solution.
