Black Screen

My One X display has just completely died. I switched the screen off and put phone on a table and the next time I picked it up I wasn't able to switch it on anymore. It just gives a black screen. When pressing the power button, the phone does turn off and on because it vibrates, gives the start up melody and the touch buttons light up. But the screen is black as a night sky... Is there anything I can try or do I just have to send it to repair service? Hard reset doesn't help either.

I faced the same problem. I'm trying to update with jelly bean rom & shows
after doing all, i have an error:

Then try to open it by default OS, but didn't open. & still it shows only black screen. Same problem Like Mimmi. Anybody can help please.......

I gave up and sent my phone to service. I did get the display on once for about three seconds, during which the display was all scrambled, showing an inch wide white noise band on the bottom of the display which "pushed" the backround wallpaper and widgets upwards and off the screen. Weird. I shall get my phone back in a week's time, so we'll see what's causing this. The guy at the repair shop said it will most likely go under warranty, so I guess my phone wasn't the first one with this kind of problem.

I have exactly the same problem (belgium) send the phone back to repair service. They found no problem. I'm not satisfied with such an answer, and especially not from a product of HTC!!!

Hi. I have the same exact problem. Last week, the screen used to turn black and used to turn back on. slightly pressing the screen usually fixed it.
Now its totally black, never shows anything. Touch is working, sounds are ok but no Light.

Dono what to do.

Hi, I have same problem. From the first day, when I bought my ONE x the screen after 5-10minute went to black. After littlebit later came back all the time.
I send back to HTC service, they said because is "water demage"!! The was BRAND new!!!! Anyway now is completly deid.
I don't know what shell I do. Maybe I need send back again to HTC? But I can't trust for them anymore, even I so dissapointed about HTC. That was my third HTC and the last one..

I have had my phone 3 months and just experienced the same issue. Phone makes start-up noise and orange light shows it's charging, but the screen is always black. I guess I have to send it in for service

My phone's display went similarly dead after circa 3 months. Sent it back, it came back saying they switched a new mobo in it and new IMEI and all. Fine.
A month and now it suddenly, as I was typing an email, goes black just the same as before, only now it doesn't go completely dead, but shows the image very dimly and flickers. Everything still seems to work fine.

Will take it to warranty repair again tomorrow. I have certainly NOT mishandled my phone, instead I have been super careful with it, up to the point that when I walk to work I have it in my pocket AND inside a separate plastic bag to deter even slightest moisture.

I can't believe this is happening. Now I have to endure another month without any smartphone...it's just...I can hardly do it. When I get it back from warranty, unless they extend the warranty to new ones/replace the entire phone, I'm selling it off in a flash and get some other brand phone...
