Hi

I need help in syncing my phone contacts to gmail. At the beginning I made a sync from gmail to phone, but it never syncs when I add contact in phone to gmail back.
If you know what is the clue here please let me know.

Story, had the same problem myself today, and not sure if you'll have it fixed by now or not but for you or anyone else I would post my solution.

So I just saw that recent entries into my phonebook via the phone itself where not syncing with my gmail. For me it was quite an easy fix in the end, although it took a bit of fiddling about through the options.

Basically the only contacts that will sync with Google are those saved with the Google type. Those saved as Phone or Sim won't sync with google. Further more, there is no way of changing a contact from Phone or Sim to Google or vica versa. So what you need to is while entering the new contact, click on 'contact type' and make sure you select the account you want it to sync with. Even if Google is already selected do this and contacts from now on should sync automatically.

The only way to sync your already saved contacts to google would be to grab a free contacts backup tool off the market place. This will save all your contacts as a CSV file on the SDCard. Take this and import it into your Gmail using the import options, this will put all your contacts and their info on Gmail. then you just have to go through the contacts and delete all the duplicates.

The last bit is easier, as you can set your phone just to show phone contacts or you can use the merge option.
