SIM Card question
First, welcome. I'm new to the forum, but not to smartphones. I currently have a Motorola Atrix 4G and am considering getting the new One X + when it comes out. I have what may be a dumb question, but here goes anyway. If I pre-order an unlocked One X + from Expansys, I obviously will need a SIM card. I've never bought a phone like this before, so how does it work? I presently have AT&T with my Atrix 4G. The SIM cards are not compatible, so if I wanted to use my new One X + with AT&T, I'm assuming I would have to ask them (AT&T) to provide a new SIM card for use with the One X +. Has anyone done this (with any phone) and will I have any issues getting a new card and registering the phone for use? I realize I could also use another carrier or even a "pay as you go" plan. I just want to make sure I don't get stuck with an expensive phone i can't use.

I'm from the UK, so have no experience with at&t, but I would have thought they could have arranged a new Sim for you that is suitable!
What kind of sim does at&t use?
X+ looks a great phone, and I'm hoping to get one as soon as it's out!
If I'm wrong, but someone will be along shortly to correct me!

Hi David,
AFAIK the One X + will take a micro SIM where as my Atrix takes a mini SIM so I couldn't use the old SIM with the new phone even if I wanted to. I'm eligible for a new phone (from AT&T) in April, 2013 so I may just wait. I was just curious as to how difficult it would be to obtain a SIM card for an unlocked, GSM phone. I'm going on the assumption that this (or any unlocked, non-brand specific) phone bought commercially or on eBay etc., will not come with a SIM card and one must be procured.

Hi, yes, you would normally have to get a sim for a phone bought sim free!
Can you buy an adapter for your mini sim?

Yes, but I have heard they are problematic. I went to the at&t store and they gave me a free micro sim card. They said they will activate it for me once I get my phone so hopefully problem solved.
